Kari Laasonen is a professor of physical chemistry (computational chemistry) in Aalto University, Finland (from 2010). His research has focused on modeling chemical reactions, especially electrochemical reactions.  He has used Machine Learning methods for analysing the computed data. He has also a broad experience in modeling surface reactions. He has collaborated with several experimental research groups in Europe and participated on several EU-projects
