Luis Castanheira is a technology passionate with over 14 years of experience in hydrogen technologies, specializing in materials science and electrochemistry. As co-Founder and Technology Manager at Fado Energy, he drives innovation in fuel cells, electrolysis, and batteries while fostering collaborations with industry and R&D institutions. Previously, he served as Director of Electrochemistry at Fusion-Fuel Portugal (PT), where he advanced electrolysis technology into costumer delivered products and led industrial partnerships. His expertise spans applied research, product development, and strategic innovation, having also held key roles at Symbio (FR) and the National Physical Laboratory (UK). Luis holds a PhD in Electrochemistry from Université Grenoble Alpes (2014) and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering (2011) from the University of Minho. Fluent in Portuguese, English, and French, he is passionate about bridging research and industrial applications to accelerate the transition to real life hydrogen projects.
